Find a place where the land is larger than your explanation. A mountain is welcome, but not required. A hill, a field, a stone wall, or an old tree can be enough.
Let your breathing settle before you decide what this encounter should give you. Nothing here needs to be achieved.
What remains when no one is impressed?
The mountain does not know your name, your work, or the version of yourself you have learned to present. It does not reward confidence or punish uncertainty. It simply meets the body that is actually standing there.
That can feel exposing. It can also feel like relief. For a moment, you no longer need to maintain the person other people expect to meet.
What becomes visible when the world asks nothing from your performance?
Sit where you cannot be important.
- Leave your phone out of reach for twenty minutes.
- Choose one stable feature in the landscape and let your gaze rest there.
- Notice each impulse to explain, improve, record, or leave.
- Ask quietly: what am I carrying that this place does not require?
You do not need to become less. Only less occupied with proving who you are.
